kloro-base is the large-scale translation of the klorofil mission. it is a rooftop center for everything organic, consisting of three units: a garden, a bar & restaurant, and a multifunctional space for artistic and scientific interventions.

with the philosophy of natural symbiosys in mind, kloro-base attaches itselfs as a gentle parasite to a static host, using the host’s wasted energy flows such as heat and water.

kloro-base started in 2009, as a wooden geodesic dome placed on the rooftop of the belle-vue brewery alongside the canal in the center of brussels. in time the kloro-base parasite will stretch out more tentacles alongside the roof it has itself attached to, becoming a full-blown hotspot for the green of mind.
